Vivo V80 is primed for launch in an overseas market next month. An official launch date was announced already for October 6th, and a dedicated product page is also live with most of its specs in preview. We even anticipate a Pakistani launch down the road. The phone was spotted today with some real-life images and camera samples.
The newcomer’s design is nicer than it looks in the renders. Vivo teased three colors on the official site. Sunrise Anthem is the only color shown in these leaked hands-on images. But that’s more than enough to get a visual blueprint.
They jumped on the horizontal bar bandwagon and expanded the camera module this time. Even the color is copied from the iPhone. Anyway, three lenses on the back each have a working camera. We have found original shots taken from the Vivo V80 by GSMArena. The official camera samples were taken on the streets of Bangkok, Thailand. Zoom in on the images and see if you like the quality. We’ll put some samples here. From what we can tell, the quality is near-flagship-level, but doesn’t really cross that threshold.
The camera hardware isn’t upgraded whatsoever. Three lenses on the back will continue to use 50MP (main) + 50MP (telephoto) + 8MP (Ultrawide) sensors. And the selfie camera is also 50MP. ZEISS would tune and optimize those cameras for Vivo.
The lineup has been seeing the same SoC since the V60. They plan to reuse the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 on the V80. This will be a 4nm platform with a 2.8 GHz boost clock over the Cortex-A720 cores. It’s nothing to write home about, and that’s exactly what Vivo intended.
They teased the exact screen specs on the site. Vivo V80 is built around a 6.59” OLED screen. This seems to have 1.5K resolution. The brightness is 5000nits. And the pixels are now pushed at a 144Hz refresh rate (vs. 120Hz on the V70). The battery is also bigger. 6500mAh is replaced by 7200mAh, and the newcomer uses a 90W charger for refills.
