We finally have confirmation. Vivo V80 will hit Asia at the beginning of next month. We suspect a Pakistani launch will follow, once they've unveiled the phone in India. There are at least three colors. Sunrise Anthem is the one we keep seeing on the banners. That’s possibly the hero color. Then we have Horizon Blue and Stellar Black. Vivo V80 Lite actually made its debut early, which is why it defaulted to Android 16 OriginOS 6. That’s fixed on the V80.
Vivo V80 runs the newer Android 17 system with OriginOS 7, which will probably get up to 5 Android updates over the years. They’ve hidden the chipset on the launch site. The lineup has been seeing the same SoC since the V60, but the SD 7 Gen 4 is still relevant and has a few years left before it ages. It’s a 4nm platform with a 2.8 GHz boost clock over the Cortex-A720 cores, which is more than enough for a midranger like the Vivo V80.
Of course, we need an official nod from Vivo to confirm the chipset. They did reveal the exact screen specs on the site. Vivo V80 is built around a 6.59” OLED screen. This seems to have 1.5K resolution, so it should be sharp. And the pixels are now pushed at a 144Hz refresh rate. That’s an upgrade from V70’s 120Hz.
They would keep the 5000 nits peak brightness on the OLED screen. The older V70 had a 6500mAh cell. This is also upgraded to 7200mAh on the new Vivo V80. It should probably add a few more hours of screen time. The newcomer plugs into a 90W charger again.
They didn’t update the camera hardware either. Three lenses on the back will continue to use 50MP (main) + 50MP (telephoto) + 8MP (Ultrawide) sensors.
