A small update showed up out of the blue on Galaxy S23 devices enrolled in the beta program. The new OTA package has a hotfix for One UI 9 beta, and it actually addresses a security bug. They’ve deployed the patch in South Korea for now. This is everything you need to know.
S91xNKSU8ZZI9 seems to be the firmware code for the new update. Of course, the numbers will vary slightly for all Galaxy S23 models. But the update size should be the same either way. Apparently, the patch is a 388.60MB download.
Reports say this update was deployed outside the normal schedule, just so they could fix a small bug in the One UI 9 beta’s security code. No specifics were given in the changelog either, except for the cryptic “Applied security-related stabilization code” message, which could mean anything.
The update is only for folks on the Beta One UI 9 program for the Galaxy S23 series. Only the South Korean units are being updated with the Hotfix right now. We don’t know yet if this patch will even show up in other regions. We’ll report if it reaches elsewhere.
The news came from Tarun Vats on X, who keeps track of any and all updates for Galaxy phones. The leaker’s X post did come with a screenshot. It shared the changelog in Korean. We have no reason to doubt any claims made in the leak so far.
It’s a beta update, so you can’t simply download it on your Galaxy S23. There are regional restrictions, and you have to be a Samsung member first.
