The Galaxy S23 series is still receiving security updates, even though it’s almost 3 years old right now. That’s one of the benefits of owning a Samsung phone. Anyway, the world is now grabbing the January 2026 security patch for S23 devices. And soon we’ll have that update in Pakistan as well.

They limited the January patch deployment to Korea for a while. But it has made it to Europe finally. We noticed that EZA1 is the new post-update firmware for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. There’s also a Galaxy 23 FE involved, which has the build updated to FZA1.
We have been covering the January 2026 patch this whole month for multiple devices. It brings the usual set of security fixes, but the Galaxy S23’s update has also introduced bug fixes and stability/performance tweaks. They didn’t get too specific with the details, though.

The patch itself serves the main purpose of eliminating 55 security vulnerabilities. Samsung managed to track at least 21 weak points in the core Android 16, and 30 of them were found on the One UI layer. All are fixed with this January 2026 update. As of January 2026, Samsung Price list has updated in Pakistan, with several models undergoing price revisions.
Even the Samsung semiconductor division has deployed four patches here, when the phones themselves only had Snapdragon chips that year. That brings the total up to 55. We suggest you grab the update as soon as it’s unlocked in the region, because 28 of those vulnerabilities are marked high risk in the Changelog.

Anyway, the update is supposed to bring some stability to the OS that’s operated by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Every one of these models is IP68 rated and completely waterproof. And they all started with Android 13 and are now running the latest Android 16 One UI 8.
The January 2026 patch update can be installed through the Software Updates menu in the Settings. But our Pakistani audience has to wait because it hasn’t been unlocked in the region yet. You’ll probably get an alert when they do. Keep watching the news for updates.
