Vivo S2 Gets Listed on IMEI Database Ahead of Launch, Vivo V80 Tags Along

A leaker told us last week that Vivo might try to revive a long-dead series. And now we have found proof to back up his claim. The GSMA IMEI directory was updated last night. And two Vivo midrangers were discovered there. Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 both seem real. The IMEI database puts them on the launch path. This is what you need to know.

Vivo V80 and the iQOO 16 have been sitting in the GSMA IMEI directory since last month. So we at least knew that the global V80 exists. Even though there was no clear model number at the time. The good thing about today’s story is that we finally have the Vivo V80’s model code: V2630.

V2576 is another new model that we’ve never seen before. From what we can tell from the details that were shared by a PassionateGeekz reporter today, the phone could be a Vivo new S mobile. This phone could take over and replace the 7-year-old S1 series from 2019.

No one knows why exactly they are trying to bring it back. But the Vivo S2 or possibly the whole S2 series is being manufactured. And they might have more than a few countries in mind for its official release. Vivo V80 is actually a pretty straightforward upgrade after the Vivo V70.

We know that the Chinese market will soon welcome the Vivo S60 (exclusively). And that same device will be spun off as the Vivo V80 in the global market. Their specs match one-to-one. It turns out, the handset is sub-flagship.

They are putting a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip inside it, so it’s an upgrade from the overused Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. There’s a big performance boost coming. And the screen seems to be a 6.59” OLED at 1.5K resolution. They might put a 7000mAh battery on it and link 90W wired charging to the cell. If there are any more updates, we’ll let you know. Keep watching the news in the meantime.
