It’s common knowledge. The premium V series gets updated every six months. We’ll see the Vivo V80 lineup in the market before long. One of the phones from said group is the Vivo V80 Lite 5G, and it was just seen on Google Play’s list of supported devices today. The file gave us more than a few details that we’d like to share with you.
The Google Play Support listing actually gave us the exact name, not just the model number. This actually helped us associate a formerly seen Bluetooth SIG listing to the Vivo V80 Lite 5G. Before now, we only knew the model numbers V2643 and V2644 without putting a face to the name.
The model numbers that were seen before on Bluetooth SIG are now seen on the Google Play Support list, and this time a moniker V80 Lite 5G showed up right next to it. And it would seem the very same code is also tied to the Vivo S2.
If that’s actually the case, whatever the rumor mill has been alleging for the Vivo S2 would apply to the Vivo latest 5G mobile as well. Expect the screen to hit at least 6.83” in size. That’s pretty normal for premium phones. This will be an AMOLED of 120Hz RR.
Vivo S2 has not been released either, but some guesses have been made about its screen. The two phones could carry the same 3000 nits peak brightness and a 32MP selfie camera. 50MP main camera is also a possibility here. They’ll outfit the lens on a horizontal camera strip.
We hear the sensor behind the main lens is actually a Sony IMX852. Dimensity 7360 Turbo could be the chipset aboard the Vivo S2, and so it’s suspected on the Vivo V80 Lite 5G as well. Apparently, the two phones are also quite thin, but not at the expense of battery.
Don’t let the phone’s alleged 7.39mm thickness fool you. It actually puts a 7,050mAh battery inside the slim chassis. There are dual speakers and possibly a screen fingerprint reader on the newcomer. This V80 Lite 5G does not have Android 17 out of the box.
