Apple iPhone 15 Pro Could be the Most ill-Reviewed Premium iPhone in History

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is raising eyebrows for all the wrong reasons. According to a report from PerfectRec, based on over 690,000 user-generated reviews online, the iPhone 15 Pro has garnered the worst user ratings of any premium iPhone model in history.

Just one month into its release, the iPhone 15 Pro is seeing a lower percentage of 5-star reviews compared to its predecessors. PerfectRec's findings reveal that the iPhone 15 Pro scored Five stars in only 73% of user reviews, marking a decline from the iPhone 14 Pro (76%) and the iPhone 13 Pro (84%).

These figures point to a notable shift in user sentiment and a lukewarm reception for Apple's latest premium gadget. In fact, the drop in 5-star reviews for the iPhone 15 Pro is particularly significant compared to the non-Pro models of the same generation.

While last year's basic iPhone 14 scored Five stars in 76% of reviews (a drop from the iPhone 13's 80%), this year's non-Pro iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have experienced an uptick in user satisfaction, indicating that Apple's efforts are resonating more with baseline models.

While the iPhone new Pro model may not have fared well in user-generated reviews, it does bring some notable improvements to the table. These include a titanium body, a boost to 8GB of RAM, the shift to USB-C charging and data transfer, and the new 3nm A17 Pro SoC, the sole 3nm smartphone chip slated for use this year.

However, early complaints about overheating from iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users may have played a role in the lower 5-star ratings. Even though Apple addressed this issue with the iOS 17.0.3 update, the ratings continue to plummet.
