Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May Arrive With 60W Charging and a Thinner Frame

The first device from Samsung to feature 45W charging was 2019’s Galaxy Note 10 Plus. But the progress in this department has stagnated ever since. The company knows 45W charging and a 5000mAh battery aren’t enough to stand out anymore, so they are planning to upgrade both on the Galaxy S26 Ultra

Today’s leak was brought forward by Ice Universe, who shared his discovery on X/Twitter and Weibo. It would appear the Galaxy S26 Ultra is due for a thinner design, and at the same time, a faster 60W wired charging kit. This could be the category’s first upgrade in over six years, and we are excited for it.

A 60W wired charging speed is far from the only improvement on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. As it so happens, some leakers believe that faster charging is the direct result of an upgraded power pack on this device. Rumor has it that Samsung will bump the cell capacity from the old 5000mAh standard to 5500mAh.

Even though the battery size has allegedly gone up by 10%, Samsung's latest Ultra model is actually being reported as a thinner sub-8mm phone, which is trimmed from the 8.2mm thickness of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Other leaks claim that its screen size is also going up by 0.3 inches.

The bigger battery and faster charging might have something to do with the speculated Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. We hear this new chip is built on TSMC’s N3P fabrication process for better processing speeds and energy efficiency. But for a longer runtime under the CPU’s full load, this phone needs all the battery capacity it can get.

A former leak dropped a clue about shrinking bezels on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company might shave the screen borders to a mere 1.2mm, which will be barely visible. And due to this bezel shrinkage on all four sides of the screen, the viewable area might increase.

There’s also a new camera design underway with a telephoto upgrade. The layout will be the same, but the lenses are a different shape now. This could be the first Samsung Ultra phone with a 50MP telephoto sensor, up from last year’s 10MP outsole. We are bound to see the rest of its details on the internet soon. Stay tuned for more reports and leaks on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
