Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's Design is Changing; Leak Reveals More Rounded Corners

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is headed for a design change again. According to a leak we spotted on X, the company plans to tweak the phone’s corner radii to give it a more rounded look. This isn’t a big change, but it shows the direction Samsung wants to take with its Ultra devices.

The squared-off design was first seen on the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus that continued until Samsung released the Galaxy S21 series. Note lineup was forever disbanded, and S21 Ultra was born as the priciest model in the S class. That was the last phone with a truly rounded design.

We wouldn’t put it past Samsung to try the chamfered design again in the near future. With the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company finally dumped the palm poking 90-degree corners after three whole generations. Now, the X leaker @UniverseIce reports an even softer design for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

If this is true, the Samsung's new Ultra model should become more comfortable to hold without the bothersome pointy design. Sharp edges are still a problem, though. Samsung won’t be getting rid of those anytime soon. That’s all we have on the phone’s design so far.

The launch timeline persists, meaning the Galaxy S26 series will arrive in January 2026. It’s still months away. But with every passing day, we learn more about this lineup, including the fact that Samsung might revamp the whole product strategy next year.

The vanilla model is going to be replaced by the Galaxy S26 Pro, the Galaxy S26 Edge will take the middle slot, and the S26 Ultra will keep leading the entire pack. Out of all three devices, only the Ultra will have S Pen support and the biggest 6.9” Dynamic 2X AMOLED.

We may find an exclusive Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 on Galaxy S26 Ultra — a “For Galaxy” overclocked version of the SoC. Of course, the OS running on this device will be Android 16 with One UI 8.5 skin. There are still some unresolved mysteries about Galaxy S26 Ultra. We’ve got our eyes open for any new developments on the subject. Keep watching the news for updates.
