They are indeed working on a Samsung Galaxy S27 behind the covers. The phone got approved by GSMA today, and now there’s a listing for it in the IMEI database. It’s an early sign that the phone exists, and that it should launch right on schedule next year.
The model number and the name were shown on the IMEI listing: SM-S952U and Galaxy S27. This specific model may be intended for the US market. You have the letter “U” at the end, and whenever we see that letter appear next to a phone’s model code, it’s generally headed to the US market.
The model will reach the states through its three major network carriers, and some of the stock will be independent. IMEI will probably show listings for other model numbers soon enough when the company gets them registered. But seeing SM-S952U on an official database is proof enough to know that it exists.
By the way, soon other certifiers will also green-light the Samsung latest S mobile. Before we know it, we’ll start seeing its specs on the internet. For now, though, we know that Samsung may be considering BOE OLED displays for the Galaxy S27 instead of their own.
The phone’s probably coming with an Exynos 2700 this time. Current models have some of the stock shipped with Exynos 2600. But it was an even distribution with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Galaxy S27 in the US market might ship with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 this time.
There’s also a possibility of a fourth device in the group this time, other than the vanilla, Plus, and Ultra. Though no one has figured out its exact name yet. It could be a Galaxy S27 Pro, per some reports. But we’ll need further sources to verify it. Keep watching the news for more updates.
