Galaxy S27 Ultra was reported earlier with CAD renders, but it had a far different design. There was another render leak today, but this time the images gave us a preview of the vanilla Samsung Galaxy S27. From what we can tell, there’s barely any change over the current S26.
Samsung is going a different route with the S27 Ultra. They switched the camera plateau to a horizontal bar that would span left to right, just like the iPhone 17 Pro, but the basic Galaxy S27 has kept the original look. It neither changes the vertical camera stack. Nor the three lenses.
These images were found in a report by Android Headlines, so we can’t outright deny their credibility. It will be hard to tell the S26 and S27 apart because of how similar they look, but Samsung’s obviously going to mix new colors for the Galaxy S27.
Android Headlines had the accurate dimensions for this newcomer. Apparently, the Samsung new S model is 149.75 mm tall, and the width is 71.8mm. It’s pretty slim at 7.25mm. The chassis is a little thicker than S26, but for good reason. There’s a huge battery upgrade coming.
There’s a possibility that Samsung will install a Si/C battery on the vanilla S27 this time. And with that, they could finally push the capacity past 4300mAh. The report actually predicts a 4900mAh cell on the newcomer. And it will be a big boon to the newcomer’s endurance.
The dimensions aren’t that different, so we suspect a repeat 6.3” AMOLED on the basic S27. Again, they are suspected to rehash the old design with the dual-layer camera island that separates lenses from the body with a minor bulge. The flash will sit right next to the camera.
We believe that Samsung will put a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (non-Pro) SoC on the Galaxy S27, though a version of the phone might still exist with Exynos 2700. These versions will be made for different markets. This is all we have on the phone so far. Keep watching the news for more updates.
