The Dynamic Island has shrunk on the iPhone 18 Pro series. It’s less wide than before. The software is more clever now, and the Dynamic Island can now show three live activities at a time. That’s owed to a new chipset and the default iOS 27 build.
Apple A20 Pro silicon is found on both the standard Pro and Pro Max versions. That’s their first 2nm platform with big 2x CPU cores that have 20% better performance. The GPU has seven slices now, and its graphics performance is 40% faster. A20 Pro is almost twice as fast in terms of Neural processing.
The vapor chamber inside the iPhone 18 Pro will cover three times as much area as the iPhone 17 Pro, so it’s much better at thermal management. Again, there are three cameras on the back, and the main 48MP sensor has Apple’s first variable aperture hardware.
They’ve added granular control over the aperture and shutter speed. The lens will let in 50% extra light for more detailed photos. Early bookings will begin September 12th, and they’ll kick off sales by September 18th.
