Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Tipped for a Major Battery Upgrade; Key Specs Emerge

They’ve used 5000mAh batteries on the Galaxy Ultra devices for way too long. The phones desperately need an upgrade. Thankfully, though, the company realizes it, and they might finally use a larger capacity on the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra. There was a big leak on X/Twitter that seems to have revealed the Ultra’s key specs.

Debayan Roy had just added a post on X, and it didn’t take long for it to go viral. We assume there’s some credibility to the leak, hence all the commotion. But we still advise you not to take his words at face value alone, since the leaker’s track record is a complete mystery to us.

Anyway, the leaker seems to believe that the latest Samsung S mobile is getting a well-deserved promotion to a 6000mAh battery after using 5000mAh for almost half a decade. And there seems to be a Qi 2 wireless charging standard here as well.

The leaker didn’t say what charging speeds it supports, but it could be 60W like the S26 Ultra. It could also use an Aluminum alloy frame. The bottom section has a USB-C 3.2 port, and the frame has an IP68 rating. Nothing’s out of the ordinary here.

The screen on the S27 Ultra is probably a 6.9” sAMOLED. It could be an M16-type OLED. The resolution is 2K (WQHD+), or 1440p in industry terms. Of course, it’s an Ultra phone, so it supports LTPO variable refresh rate.

The performance will come from a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip that hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be by the time S27 Ultra debuts. This is allegedly the first silicon with UFS 5.0 storage, and it’s also a 2nm node-based SoC.

The cameras on the S27 Ultra are probably stacked in a horizontal bar this time, if this leak is to be believed. The company has been toying with that idea for some time. Sadly, this also means one less camera on the back. The setup is now 200MP HP6 OIS + 50MP UW + 50MP 5x periscope. Keep watching the news for more updates.
