Samsung has the next generation of Galaxy S phones lined up for launch on February 9. It features Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. All three phones have been extensively leaked over several months. And now that we’re nearing the launch, an exhaustive report has published high-quality press images, specs, and pricing — leaving nothing to the imagination.

Samsung Galaxy S22

The S22 features a 6.1” Dynamic OLED screen that peaks at 1080P resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. At 1500 nits, it’s brighter. Plus, Gorilla Glass Victus toughens it. We’re looking at a hole punched right through the middle. And an even, symmetrical bezel surrounds the screen.

On the back, we find a triple-lens camera. It consists of 50 MP OIS f/1.8 wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP 3x telephoto shooters. In addition, the front camera has a 10MP sensor behind it.

Samsung hasn’t made any considerable design changes to the phone. It comes in four finishes: rose gold, matte black, white, and forest green.

But Samsung has trimmed the battery size from 4000 mAh to 3700 mAh. Plus, the S22 has lost weight too this year. The casing is only 7.6mm thick and weighs 167g. You can pick from 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB editions. The baseline variant starts from €849 (~ Rs. 168,700.)

Samsung Galaxy S22+

True to its title, the S22+ is essentially a bigger version of the S22. It rocks a bigger 6.6” display and a 4500 mAh battery. The display peaks at an eye-searing 1750 nits – the brightest on any phone.

At 7.64mm of depth and 195g of weight, the S22+ has a bigger footprint too. It also comes in 128GB/256GB models, priced at €1,099 (~ Rs. 218,000.)

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The Ultra has the most notable upgrades. Its boxy cylindrical design matches the Galaxy Note 20, except for the streamlined, minimalist camera cluster. It comes in red, forest green, pure white, and matte black shades. Plus, the S22 Ultra now has a built-in housing for the S pen.

For the screen, we’re looking at a 6.8” 2K Dynamic OLED panel. It’s the LTPO kind that smoothly adjusts the refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz increments. Combined with the 1750 nits of peak brightness, it will be the most stunning display we’ve ever seen from Samsung.

The camera system hasn’t changed from last year. It’s a cluster of 108MP OIS wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and two OIS telephoto shooters. The front camera uses a 40 MP sensor. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra starts from €1,249 (~ Rs. 248,000) available in 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB variants.
