The luxury collector’s edition Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra just became official in China, and they formally call it the “Samsung W27.” There’s nothing different about this device internally. But it did get a new makeover with Gold Accents. Of course, the price is way higher than the original Ultra.
Only two colors are mixed for the W27, by the way. And those are both dual-tone. Well, the primary colors are dark Blue and Red. But they do have a common theme. The metal rims and the camera island are both gold paint jobs. And even the hinge is coated in the same paint.
There’s a mark at the bottom with Chinese letters. It actually reads “Heart to the World”. Again, the paint doesn’t change the composition of this phone. It’s still just a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in fancy packaging, literally. They’ll give you a special Collector’s Edition box with it.
The box even has a 45W charger in it. Another special item in the box would be a Kevlar protective case. The other items would probably be a wire and a SIM ejector. Samsung new Fold mobile scored something else that’s not present on the original version.
They unlocked Satellite connectivity on the W27. It’s easier to do in China because it has the network infrastructure to support that kind of hardware. 16/512GB and 16/1TB are the only two options, by the way. Everything else turns out to be the same on both versions.
Samsung W27 is the thinnest foldable, as was the Fold 8 Ultra. The exact weight is 215g and thickness would be 8.9mm thin. The battery inside it would be 5000mAh again. The charging speed would be 45W wired PD + 20W wireless. The selfies are 10MP each, and the main camera is 200MP.
The inner dynamic AMOLED is 8”, and the outer cover display is 6.5”. The sizes don’t match, but the specs do. Both are HDR10+ LTPOs at 3000 nits. Only the inner AMOLED has an anti-reflective coating. W27 will boot to Android 17 (One UI 9). The chipset inside is the same old Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. 512GB Samsung W27 is pretty steep at CNY 18,999 (~PKR 789,000), and the 1TB option is even more so at CNY 21,999 (~PKR 913,000).
