Only a few countries remain where the Samsung Galaxy A08 hasn’t arrived yet, and Pakistan is one of them. Not for long, though. Another Asian market just welcomed the Galaxy A08 today. This happened just weeks after the Malaysian debut. We suspect Pakistan might be its next pit stop.

There’s no big change on this version. The phone got a larger battery. They’ve even upgraded the OS and made the Galaxy A08 4G era-appropriate. We’ve hit Android 17 One UI 9 on this newcomer. A bunch of extra home/lock customizations and some new AI features have been added to it.
Galaxy A07 4G had a 5000mAh cell only. That’s what they changed. Samsung new Galaxy model is not a complete rehash. They’ve put a 6000mAh battery on this thing. This didn’t come with a charging upgrade, though. It’s stuck with 25W input again. And the bigger cell could cause slower charging.

There are six years of OS updates and security patches. They’ll keep this promise for another generation. But the old and battered Helio G99 doesn’t have much life left in it. Yes, last year’s phone had the same chip, and so does the Galaxy A08 4G.
They’ve put a PLS LCD on it. Galaxy A08 is built on a 6.7” screen at 90Hz. And the resolution is 720p HD+. No brightness stats are quoted on the official site anyway. We peg this number at ~500 nits HBM. That is, if they are using the very same panel found on the Galaxy A07, which is a strong possibility.

The ugly notch has returned too. That’s where they put an 8MP selfie unit. And there’s still the dual-lens system on the back. It’s nothing special, just a single main 50MP f/1.8 camera with autofocus (no OIS). It does FHD 60FPS recording, apparently.
This is the cheapest phone they make. But it’s still pretty durable with an IP64 splashproof rating. There’s even dual-band WiFi on it. They’ve put the fingerprint ID on the power button. It was actually unveiled in India today without a price tag. Malaysian base price for the Galaxy A08 was RM 899 (~PKR 61,000).
