This newcomer was seen on the IMEI database, and then it got listed on the Google Play Console. The way it has been popping up everywhere, we can’t help but suspect a launch nearby. Anyway, Samsung Galaxy A08 has now passed Anatel certification in Brazil, and it seems the phone has a bigger battery this time.
The phone will definitely end up in Brazil after the Anatel certification. We saw the exact battery size on file. Samsung Galaxy A08 has a rated cell size of 5,830 mAh. That’s a big jump from what we currently have on the Galaxy A07, which is 5,000 mAh only.
The rated capacities or true capacities are usually different from what we see on paper. The typical size they might advertise on the Samsung latest A mobile would be 6,000 mAh. And that’s a straight 20% jump from the current standard 5,000 mAh batteries on all their A phones.
Anyway, the certification at Anatel showed a 4G version of the device, not 5G. Google Play Console already gave us a few clues about this handset, like the fact that its display is HD+ 720p resolution. This is the lowest-tier phone they make, so it might have just a simple LCD.
Galaxy A08 will obviously have more than one trim, and Google Play Console has confirmed 8GB RAM on the pricier model. It seems the hardware is just rehashed from Galaxy A07. All they’ve really upgraded is the battery size to 6000mAh.
MTK chips have had at least three more generations after the Helio G99, but Samsung insists on keeping the SoC in circulation. Galaxy A08 will reuse the same 2.2GHz chip with Mali G57 integrated GPU. Again, there aren’t many upgrades, and the spec sheet is mostly repeated. There’s plenty that still needs to be discovered about the Galaxy A08. Keep watching the news for more updates.
