Apple iPhone 18 Live Photos Offer Another Look at Its New Camera Bar

A dummy unit leaked this week, and we had a first look at the iPhone 18’s design. It didn’t really paint a full picture, but we understood the direction Apple’s taking. That dummy leak was substantiated today with a couple of live images. This is everything we know.

The images seemingly come from the factory floors. We saw three color options for the Apple iPhone 18, though we hold out hope for more. And design-wise, major changes are coming. See for yourself. The alleged spy shots show a unibody design now and a camera bar.

iPhone 18 wants to fit in with the rest of its siblings, and in so doing, adopt the design of last year’s iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. There are still two cameras, but the platform underneath has expanded to the entire upper half of the frame. The Flash and Mic are pushed to the right, and the black dot under the mic could be a LiDAR.

The side rails have gone, and the entire chassis is now aluminum alloy that wraps all around and leaves a subsection for the glass panel. That’s where the MagSafe coil and Apple logo go. So basically, the design is now the iPhone 18 Pro equivalent in most ways. If you're considering a new iPhone, review the iPhone New Model page to find an option that matches your budget.

By the way, these live shots have a Dark Blue/White paint job for the iPhone 18. There’s even a pink color for niche buyers. So there you have it, just as predicted by early reports: a homogeneous iPhone 18 design to match the rest of its siblings.

Of course, the phone has been upgraded. It’s not just the design that’s changing, but there’s a faster chipset on the way. Apple A20 Pro is a 2nm SoC. We assume it has a vanilla version called the Apple A20. This will be a 3nm chip, and it would trail the Pro verison in CPU and GPU power. Keep watching the news for more updates.
