Galaxy A07s and Samsung Galaxy A08 were put on the Google Play Console database together. One of those phones already launched yesterday. Samsung Galaxy A08 hasn’t come out yet, but the newcomer did show up in a leaked render, which gave us the first-ever preview of its design.
They’ve changed nothing. The Galaxy A08 looks exactly the same as the current Galaxy A07, though there is a new color for it. The image isn’t from a well-known source, so its credibility is still in question, but the claim still has validity.
The Galaxy phones at the lower tier rarely change any specs, let alone design. That’s just the Samsung way. Samsung latest A mobile has the same camera island with two lenses, and the rest of the rear plate is bare-bones. There’s a key Island on the side. That’s where they’ve put the fingerprint ID and a volume rocker.
They didn’t change the screen either. The U-notch is still here. There are thick bezels around the screen and a chin that can’t be ignored. Again, the appearance of the phone makes it clear it’s a sub-entry handset. The green paint job is only one of the new shades.
The source didn’t leave any clue if this is a 5G variant or 4G. The 4G LTE version is delayed this year. They want to launch that sibling in October, apparently. Galaxy A08 5G is pushed all the way to February 2027. There are minute upgrade on this device.
The default OS will be switched. Galaxy A08 is going to boot One UI 9 out of the box, though the chipset pushing performance is exactly the same as last. The battery upgrade is also a possibility here. They might put a bigger 6000mAh battery on the Galaxy A08.
The older Galaxy A07 was the first Samsung phone to shove a 6000mAh battery in the chassis. But this upgrade only appeared on the 5G version, not the LTE. We’ll see if the A08 4G also gets a battery upgrade this year and finally rids us of the 5000mAh standard. Keep watching the news for more updates.
