Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Updated to One UI 6.1; April Patch & New AI Features

The old Galaxy S22 series is now a go for the One UI 6.1 update. When May started, they pinged the update to Galaxy S22 users all over their hometown, South Korea. There was a complication mid-way with a bug. But Samsung is back on its feet with the One UI 6.1 rollout restarted outside Korea.


One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S22 series enters Europe. The trio gets the firmware version 'S90xBXXU9EXE1' in that region. It will have the April security patch in the bank, but not May. S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra owners: you can update easily by following this. Just open Settings » Software update » Download and install.

S22 phone users in Pakistan have to wait a bit. But surely, One UI 6.1 will reach you guys soon. You should also know that pre-update, the download size is 3GB. Free up some space if you don't have any so you can transition easily. They recommend WiFi for stable download, so do that as well.


It's an update that has visual changes on the Samsung new 5G smartphone. Lock screen wallpapers are getting a glow-up. You may even come across new widgets. But the main attraction is a better AOD. And obviously, you'll note that animations are more fluid than before.

Updated S22s have generable AI wallpapers. And then there's a browsing assistant for the webpage summary. And chat assistant helps by real-time language translation in messages. People can circle to search, use edit suggestions, and generative edit photos. It's an update with a lot of potential.
