Oppo's latest Reno 7 series is already out, but the phone-maker hasn't closed the previous-gen Reno 6 line. Yesterday, Oppo rolled out the Reno 6 Lite in South America. It’s not a new phone but a rebadged version of the Oppo F19 already available in Pakistan.
The phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 at its heart. It’s an entry-level chip that’s already two years old, so expect it to show its age soon. Nevertheless, despite the budget chipset, the Oppo Reno 6 Lite falls into the mid-range price bracket.
The Qualcomm engine is hooked up to a 5000 mAh battery that promises all-day battery life. The 33W charger included in the box quickly gets you back to 100% when you run out. Plus, you get 6GB of memory and 128GB of expandable internal storage. Lastly, the ColorOS 11 x Android 11 powers the Reno 6 Lite.
The design of the Oppo Reno new model is nothing groundbreaking. Oppo Reno 6 Lite is a typical plastic slab with a camera rectangle and chamfered edges. The subtle textured casing comes in Rainbow Silver and Black finishes. Also, a cluster of three lenses and an LED flash occupies the camera housing.
We’re looking at an array of 48MP f/1.7 wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP portrait shooters. Not to mention a 16MP selfie camera to round off the whole setup. The front camera lives inside a hole-punch cutout.
The cutout is placed off-center on the display. And the screen is flanked by minimal bezels and a prominent chin. It’s a 6.43” 1080P AMOLED panel, filling a 20:9 aspect ratio and peaking at 800 nits of brightness. In addition, Oppo has hidden a fingerprint scanner below the display. Oppo Reno 6 Lite starts from MXN 8,799.
