Tecno Camon Slim 5G Unveiled with 6000mAh Battery, Dimensity Chip, and IP69K Rating

Tecno has a Spark Slim and a Pova Slim device. Those are thin, entry-level phones from last year. They also revealed the Camon Slim 4G a few months back. But the Tecno Camon Slim 5G is a proper midranger. The newcomer was made official yesterday, and this is what it looks like.

The new Camon Slim is a 5G phone in a league above the older Pova Slim, which was also a 5G device. Early rumors pegged its design to be similar to the 4G LTE version, but that’s not the case. The Matrix LED screen is missing. It looks a lot like the Camon 50 series.

The phone has been given the “Slim” title because of its 6.39mm chassis. They’ve somehow outfitted the Tecno new Camon model with a 6000mAh battery. The Pova Slim had 5160mAh. At least the added thickness will benefit users with endurance.

By the way, the screen you see on the front is a 144Hz AMOLED at 6.78”. This is a big display with a 1.5K resolution (1208x2644px). Thin phones usually overlook durability, but the Camon Slim 5G has the industry’s best-ever IP69K rating, which will keep it safe from all kinds of liquid spills at various temperatures.

The chassis is designed in a way that it’s safe from drops and shock damage. TÜV SÜD actually tested the Camon Slim 5G for 60 months of software fluidity. There are three lenses on the back, but only two actually function: a 50MP main + 8MP ultrawide.

There’s another lens on the screen. That’s where they put a 32MP selfie camera. Tecno will end up releasing three OS updates on the Camon Slim down the road. The newcomer’s built-in OS is reported to be Android 16 HiOS 16 from the factory. There’s no official price tag for the device as of yet.
