Huawei P50 Pro Shown in Leaked Renders; Your First Look at the Upcoming Flagship & its Striking Camera Design

The early product images of the upcoming Huawei P-series flagship just appeared online. The new Huawei P50 Pro was featured in a report by Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as @OnLeaks, detailing its specifications and design.

Aside from the astonishingly narrow chin around its screen, the most striking feature of the Pro variant of the Huawei P50 would be its giant camera housing. It sticks out roughly 2mm from the shell and stretches almost halfway across.

The cameras are the biggest highlight of a P-series Huawei phone, and the P50 Pro is no exception. You can make out two rings embedded in the oversized housing. Mr. Hemmerstoffer suspects that owing to their unusually large size, each ring features more than one lens.

Rumor has it that Huawei is introducing the so-called liquid lens technology in their next P-series flagship. If the size of the camera rings is any guide, Huawei P50 Pro might have the upgrade in store for us.

The Huawei new model 2021 uses a blend of glass and metal for its shell and frame. It’s a 6.6” panel, presumably OLED. The bezel around it has been shaved off to the very edges; the P50 Pro display also curves along the edges, so the side bezels are practically invisible.

Similarly, the intrusive pill-box hole from last year’s Huawei P40 Pro gives way to a simpler, tinier, and solitary hole-punch. An optical fingerprint scanner is integrated into the screen. The frame also includes an IR blaster and two speakers.
