Huawei P50 Pro Plus High-quality Product Images Showcase Its Penta-Camera and Waterfall Screen

The first product images of the new Huawei P-series, featuring the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro, surfaced this month when Steve Hemmersoffer, better known as @OnLeaks, gave us silhouetted previews. Now comes the third, most premium model of this lineup, the P50 Pro+. Here’s your first clear look at its camera system.

Published by the leaker HoilNDI, the press renders show what could be the finalized design for the Huawei P50 Pro Plus. We’re looking at a quad-curving screen with a razor-thin bezel surrounding it. There’s a hole-punch in the display and an oval, egg-shaped camera housing on the back.

We’re still months away from the P50 series launch. So the design and layout might see tweaks later down the road. The same leaker has previously posted similar renders but with a squarish camera bump. But as it stands, there are five lenses encased inside the camera bump: four ordinary ones and one light-bending periscope kind.

The cameras have once again been co-developed with Leica. Huawei has always used the P flagships as launchpads for their camera innovations; P50 Pro Plus is no exception in the Huawei price list. Rumor has it the upcoming generation of the Huawei P-series will adopt 1” sensors — the largest ever in a smartphone camera.

Not to mention, reports suggesting that Huawei also plans to integrate a liquid lens in one of the cameras. It remains to be seen if these rumors pan out, but the Huawei P50 Pro Plus shapes up to be more ambitious than ever.

In addition to the periscope camera, the array likely includes a standard telephoto lens. You can also make out a possible laser AF module (also introduced with the new Galaxy S21 Ultra.)
