Xiaomi Poco X8 5G Gets First Official Teaser; Tipped as Rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro

They never released the base Xiaomi Poco X8 in the global market. This will be the third model in the series after the Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max, and they may have teased this newcomer without explicitly mentioning its name. Poco Global made a post on X/Twitter today.

We’ll put their post somewhere in this article. Right at the bottom, it says Poco X series. A simple Poco X8 5G could be released, and this right here is an official confirmation post. It does say “series” in the tweet, so we are assuming there is more than one device on the way.

Anyway, the Poco X8 5G is seen in the leaks more than once. Apparently, this newcomer might just be a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro from a separate branch of Xiaomi. Poco phones are usually just Redmis, with small changes in design and colors, so the claim is believable. By the way, check Xiaomi mobile prices in Pakistan to find the latest models and their updated features.

Safe to say that Poco X8 is not an original either. Redmi Note 17 Pro was made official in China, and if the two phones are identical, we are about to see a 9,000mAh battery on the copycat with probably 67W fast charging. Again, these specs hinge on Poco X8 being a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro.

This newcomer would probably carry a huge full AMOLED 6.83” AMOLED that has 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz non-LTPO refresh rate. It’s a midrange screen. The cameras were worse on the Note 17 Pro, and they’ll be worse still on the Poco X8 5G.

We are probably going to see a solo 50MP main camera on the Poco X8 next to a 2MP depth mapper unit. And then comes the front 8MP selfie, which is the most bland camera setup we’ve ever seen in the Note class.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is the most plausible chip inside the Poco X8 5G, since it builds on the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The default OS would be Android 16 Hyper OS 3 skin on it. The screen would have an optical fingerprint reader, and its body might be rated IP68/IP69. Keep watching the news for more updates.
