An insider has apparently leaked the launch date for the Poco X8 Pro series. And it’s pretty close on the calendar. Both Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max will be deployed globally on that date. The leaker didn’t say which country will welcome the series first. But here’s everything we found.

The news actually came from SmartPrix. They seem to believe Poco will unveil the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max on 17th March. That’s almost a week away at this point. It’s obviously a global launch since China already has the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max.
Xiaomi isn’t building the X8 Pro and Pro Max from scratch. They are basically rebranded Redmi Turbo phones. Yes, Xiaomi's latest Poco model could have different accents and colors. But the base design and specs are probably the same. So it’s not hard to guess what lies inside the newcomers.

Redmi Turbo phones can’t leave China. So Xiaomi will just rebrand them as Poco for the global release. Poco X8 Pro was already teased with a Dimensity 8500 Ultra. And we also know that X8 Pro Max is officially built around Dimensity 9500S. That has been confirmed.
At least for the Poco X8 Pro, we’ll probably see a 6.59” OLED screen that has a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. The numbers fit well in the segment. There’s always a chance that Poco phones will have smaller batteries than the original Redmi devices. But the report says otherwise.

Poco X8 Pro will have the same 7,560 mAh battery as Redmi Turbo 5. The charging speed is supposed to be 100W. In Pro Max’s case, there could be a Si/C 9,000 mAh battery. A 100W input is also expected here. But take this with a pinch of salt, because the battery standards vary across markets.
Anyway, one thing we can be sure of is that Poco X8 Pro Max will use a 6.83” AMOLED. There’s a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. The Pro and Pro Max both skip the telephoto camera. They’ll grab the same 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide, with a 20MP selfie. Keep watching the news for more stories like this.
