Xiaomi appears to be working on the next Redmi Turbo 5, which might debut globally with a different name: Poco X8 Pro. Rumors and leaks so far hint at strong mid-tier performance from these phones. One of the more accurate predictions came from leaker Digital Chat Station, who exposed its key specs over on Weibo.

If the leak holds, the Poco X8 Pro might be an early adopter of MediaTek’s unannounced Dimensity 8500 chip. Its specs haven’t been made public yet, though you can expect a flagship-killer performance out of it, just like the Dimensity 8400.

The leaker spilled the tea on some more details, including the phone’s exterior. Apparently, the phone has a metal frame and a curved chassis. The camera deco would be minimal, and the backplate is supposed to have a textured design. DCS believes that its screen and body size will be average.

The latest Poco Xiaomi mobile might have a larger battery than before. The former Poco X7 Pro had a 6000mAh cell in the global market, but DCS claims a significant uptick in the capacity for the newer model. The X8 Pro could use a SiC battery with 7000mAh energy storage or more.

As for the charging, the leaker didn’t comment on this specification, but it’s likely to feature more or less the same 90W input speeds as the Poco X7 Pro. The leaked information doesn’t end here. We still have some exclusive display information to go over.

The current phone has a full-flat AMOLED screen on the front, but DCS suggests the company might be turning back to a curved “R-angle” AMOLED display. It will be a 1.5k, roughly 1220 x 2712p resolution panel with LTPS tech. It will consume less power than your average AMOLED display.

The camera components and other essential features haven’t been leaked yet, though it’s only a matter of time before they do. We have our ears to the ground for more information on the Poco X8 Pro/Redmi Turbo 5. Stay tuned for further updates.
