HMD Nokia 2360 Flip Now Official with Dual Screen, Family Assist, and SOS Button

There’s still some demand for dumb “Feature” phones, and HMD has just made a new clamshell version. They call it the Nokia 2360 Flip. This newcomer is made specifically for folks who never truly adopted smartphones, so it does have a niche demographic to serve, like students and senior citizens.

This newcomer has a clamshell design with two screens, by the way. There’s a T9 dial pad right at the bottom. The upper section has a 2.8” main screen (color display), and they’ve put a 1.77” screen on the flip side. You get cutouts on the opposite side of the dial pad where a speaker is installed next to an SOS button.

That SOS button can do a lot. It’s customizable. You can add a preset emergency message to the SOS key that the phone can send to at least five contacts. And of course, users can also pick which contacts would get that message.

This is just a 2G GSM phone, though. It doesn’t even have 3G. The areas where 2G is still in service are far and few apart. So the Nokia new Feature mobile is just for a few regions. This dumb phone does have a 1450mAh battery and a loudspeaker. This kind of handset doesn’t really need a big battery.

They’ve put a Family Assist feature on it. This will be customized remotely by family members, and they’ll add contacts to it and adjust the volume of the phone. Reminders and other settings could be changed by someone who has said remote access.

Nokia 2360 Flip has one camera. That’s a QVGA sensor. The internal storage doesn’t exist. We’ve got FM radio on it like any other T9 phone, and there’s a headphone jack on it as well. All HMD did was announce the Nokia 2360 Flip, not the price. Keep watching the news for more updates.
