Poco X8 Pro has been in the headlines for a while now, and there’s still no official launch date for it. Still, there are plenty of certifications around to prove that it’s on the way. We saw this newcomer on the EEC and SGS platforms within the past few weeks. And now Indonesia’s SDPPI has also cleared it for launch in the region.

The rumor mill is adamant that the Poco X8 Pro might just be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5. They are basing this theory on the old patterns. The recent Poco X7 Pro was identical to the Redmi Turbo 4 after all. The Chinese market will see Turbo 5 soon.
The new SDPPI listing doesn’t have much, but there is the Poco X8 Pro’s model number. The letter “G” at the end of “2511FPC34G” actually means global device, if that wasn’t made clear before. By the way, the Redmi Turbo 5 has nearly the same model number (2511FRT34C), which can’t be a coincidence. Therefore, Xiaomi phone prices in Pakistan vary widely, from budget-friendly models to flagship models.

We don’t see much in the name of specs on SDPPI, so we had to look elsewhere. There are rumors saying that Poco X8 Pro is built around a 1.5K LTPS OLED screen, and the battery within might be 6500mAh. These numbers do sound believable.
The battery size they’ve been claiming is a few mAh short of Poco X7 Pro’s cell size. But, on the other hand, we are hearing chatter of an upgraded 100W charging speed for the X8 Pro. There’s a Dimensity 8500 SoC on the Turbo 5, so it’s safe to assume that the X8 Pro has the same chipset.

There are other reports on the design, which claim the X8 Pro and Turbo 5 have a metal build. They have passed the IP69 rating as well, so these are completely waterproof just like their forerunners.
We can already tell from the specs that these are semi-flagship phones. But there is one more device above the X8 Pro that might be a pure flagship handset with a Dimensity 9500e chip. That’s supposedly a Poco X8 Pro Max/Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. You’ll likely see more updates on these devices later. Keep watching the news.
