Samsung Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus have had several leaks in the past, but now something official has appeared. China’s 3C certification reveals charging speeds for both of these phones. Of course, this is also a sign of their progress through the development pipeline.
SM-S9520 is the model code they used on the 3C filing for the Galaxy S27. There’s no change this year, charging-wise. The phone uses the 25W charging standard again. The listing shows a maximum 9V power delivery at 2.77A, which adds up to ~25W.
Galaxy S27+ or the model number SM-S9560 got listed on 3C with 45W input. The max voltage on the certification is 15V DC at 3A. Again, if you plug it into a supported charger, you’ll get 10W at the minimum and 45W at best when the battery is empty.
The base Galaxy S27 has kept the 25W wired charging for more than five generations ever since the Galaxy S20+. The same goes for the Galaxy S27 Plus, which hasn't seen a charging upgrade since the Samsung Galaxy S22+ in 2022. But that’s to be expected. They’ve developed a hierarchy at this point. Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is the current model, actually scored 60W charging for the first time in ages. We suspect the Galaxy S27 Ultra will do the same, and we’ll see a clear scale: 25W, 45W, and 60W.
There are some upgrades, but charging speed is not one of them. Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus are reported to carry Exynos 2700 in a few regions and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 in others. They may tweak the camera software. And probably enlarge the batteries. But these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. Keep watching the news for more updates.
