Oppo Reno 14 has been leaked with some new renders, particularly focusing on its camera island. The phone is next in line to succeed the Oppo Reno 13, and Digital Chat Station has exposed a brand-new design for the upcoming device through rendered images.
The leaker says Reno 14 has a new lens arrangement, as you can see in the photos right here. The dual lens array on the left side is borrowed from the forerunner, but the right hemisphere is entirely different because of the elongated pill design, housing the third lens right above the LED flash.
DCS didn’t mention whether it’s an aesthetic or a functional change, but it looks like the lens array is slowly becoming more iPhone-esque. The leaker said as much in his latest post on Weibo, where he shared the images. That first shot revealed the camera design upfront.
We have a second image of the same white-colored Oppo Reno 14, but instead of the top-down view, you can see the device in the profile view. In the comments of his Weibo post, another source compared an iPhone with the Oppo new Reno mobile to show how similar they look from the side, especially the camera island.
Oppo Reno 13 is already under scrutiny for looking too much like an iPhone, but the company seems to have decided to double down on the philosophy and boldly acknowledge the inspiration for its Reno devices. Rounded corners, a flat profile, and an Aluminum frame all mimic the standard iPhone design.
While we are on the subject of cameras, a former leak mentioned a 50 MP main OIS lens and an 8MP ultrawide shooter for Reno 14. There’s still some confusion about Reno 14 and 14 Pro’s design, but as things stand right now, DCS’ new leak only covers the base version.
A previous leak showed the Reno 14 Pro to have an entirely different camera design with a split lens configuration. Due to limited information, it’s unclear how different Reno 14 and 14 Pro are in terms of looks, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground to find the distinguishing elements on both these devices.
