The next OnePlus series is coming in March 2021. Other than the standard OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro, the upcoming lineup will feature a new edition, OnePlus 9E. The rumor mill has already leaked the internal specifications and hands-on photos of the OnePlus 9. Today, courtesy of SlashLeaks, we get the details of the camera cluster.
The SlashLeaks post featuring the OnePlus 9 camera specifications was promptly taken down. But not before it had made rounds on the internet. For their newest flagship cameras, OnePlus has partnered with Leica.
You may recognize this name from Huawei’s premium P and Mate flagships. And if Huawei’s P series (built entirely with a focus on photography) is any guide, you can expect the OnePlus cameras to get a dramatic upgrade.
Speaking of new cameras, the OnePlus 9 has three -- a primary 50MP wide camera, a 20MP ultra-wide unit, and a 12MP telephoto camera. The telephoto lens features autofocus and optical image stabilization.
The three cameras were featured in live photos too. They are embedded in a generic round plate. The design is more squared off this year. On the front, the display is flat. And once again, a hole-punch is poked into it. It’s a sharp turn from the OnePlus 7 Pro and its full-screen, pop-up camera design.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, 8GB of memory, and 128GB of storage are at the heart of the OnePlus 9. It boots to the latest Android11-based OxygenOS.
