Galaxy S27 Series to Feature Privacy Display Across the Board; S27 Ultra & Pro Get 16MP Selfie

Privacy display has had its test run on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. And the industry has spoken in its favor. They now want to put the same privacy filter on every Galaxy S27 series device. It won’t just be the S27 Ultra. Privacy Display will be seen on the S27 Pro, S27 Plus, and even the basic Samsung Galaxy S27. This is what we found in a new report.

TheElec found these details originally, but now every news outlet is covering it. Samsung used something called Flex Magic Pixel on its OLED for the S26 Ultra. Almost half the pixels had dynamic light dome control. This is true at least for the first-gen privacy display.

Straight light passed from these pixels, so it was only visible to the person looking at the screen from the front and not from the side. That’s basically how the built-in privacy display works. Some issues did rear their ugly head at first. But updates have fixed it.

This would only get better from here, because they now want to put the second version of the hardware privacy display on the whole Galaxy S27 family. We may even see this feature become a staple for all flagship Galaxy phones on the Galaxy S27 series and everything that will come later.

Now, you may find it hard to believe, but the Samsung latest S mobile is definitely a real device. They call it the mini Ultra version that doesn’t have the S Pen or the fourth (telephoto) camera. The rest of its specs are supposed to match the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and there’s talk of a selfie camera upgrade for both.

What the Galaxy S26 Ultra has right now is a 12MP unit (f/2.2) (dual-pixel focus). They wish to put a bigger 16MP sensor on the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra. That’s intriguing enough as it is, but that’s not the main story.

Apparently, Samsung will try and copy Apple. iPhone 17 Pro got a square 18MP sensor last year. That 16MP sensor on the Galaxy S27 Pro/Ultra could be of the same nature. 50MP telephoto and 50MP Ultrawide are standard on either model. We'll keep you posted on further updates. Stay tuned.
