We have substantial proof that Xiaomi 18 is right on schedule for launch. They are working on the device after all, and by association, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max. These three devices will debut together as a group. Anyway, these are the details the GSMA IMEI database had on the vanilla Xiaomi 18.
The phone was seen on the GSMA IMEI database recently. That’s usually the first place where devices are spotted before they start reaching other certifiers. Xiaomi 18 being listed on the IMEI database could be taken as a sign that it’s under development.
This newcomer seems to have an internal code name “Madrid”. That’s probably meant to conceal its identity. The listing had model numbers as well, each for a different region. The four versions of the Xiaomi latest 5G mobile had 2611FPNFAR, 2611FPNFAG, 2611FPNFAI, and M154FF model numbers assigned to them.
A separate IMEI listing was made for each version, by the way. There is a global version among them. There’s one for Japan, China, and India as well. Pakistan usually ends up with the global variant. Now, it’s not the norm, but sometimes, regions do get slightly different specs.
One particular thing did jump out to us as we observed each model number. All of them have a prefix 2611. This means the Xiaomi 18 could launch in November 2026. And we are talking about a global launch here. It’s sooner than expected.
The certification wasn’t helpful in terms of specs, and the rumor mill has little knowledge about the Xiaomi 18. We assume the phone is built around a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip and could use LPDDR5X RAM. And the screen could be between 6.3” and 6.4”. Keep watching the news to stay tuned as the story develops.
