Xiaomi 18 Pro series will launch tomorrow, September 23rd, 19:00 China time on the dot. They’ve been teasing the device nonstop for at least a week, and some details have already been confirmed. These are the five new upgrades we’re about to see on the Xiaomi 18 Pro duo.
By the way, it’s not just the Pro. We also have a Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in the series. One of their new teasers has actually listed the five key upgrades over the former models. They didn’t hold back. And just to be clear here, these specs apply to both the Pro and Pro Max.
The first one’s pretty obvious. They both have the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, which they tease as a new 2nm platform. This has far better efficiency. The performance also goes up on the CPU and GPU. Apparently, the chip pushes the clock speed to 5.01 GHz.
Xiaomi new 18 model has a dual 200MP camera system, and so does the Pro Max. The first sensor is obviously under the main lens, and the second one is a telephoto lens. They each have LEICA image tune-up and post-processing with some complementary filters from the camera brand.
It seems they’ve put a new SuperPixel display on both models. M11 light-emitting system can produce more brightness. And it actually uses even less energy while doing so. They’ll probably quote higher brightness stats on the Pro and Pro Max this year.
The screen would be a flexible OLED made with LIPO tech, so it has the thinnest bezels ever seen on a Xiaomi phone. They tease a 0.99mm bezel size. That’s one of its best qualities. And it’s symmetrical too. All four sides get the same bezel, which is even more impressive.
Then comes the battery. Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max obviously have a size difference. One has 7000mAh. And the other has an 8500mAh cell. But they did tease 32% silicon content on each battery. That’s the highest concentration of the material on any Si/C pack. It’s a custom GSR VIII battery from Xiaomi. By the way, 3C showed 100W charging on each phone.
