Tecno Spark 40 series was formally welcomed in Africa today. We have three new phones joining the family this time — Tecno Spark 40 Pro Plus, Spark 40 Pro, and vanilla Spark 40. The company offers a decent price-to-performance ratio with each variant, and you’ll find all the details about this lineup down below.
Tecno Spark 40 Pro+
This is the highest-tier option in the group, and it’s also the first device with a Helio G200 chip. It has a slightly better GPU performance, plus, MediaTek added 12-bit DCG support, so it can record better HDR videos. The Spark 40 Pro+ paired that chip with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage.
There’s a curved 6.78” AMOLED display on the front, which is a 1.5K resolution panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display on this phone is phenomenal and certainly a first for the Spark family. Its fingerprint ID lies within the screen, and there’s a 13MP selfie camera just at the top.
Flip it over and you’ll see a 50MP main camera on the back and a secondary (unspecified) lens right beside it. There’s a 5200mAh battery in this phone, which you can refill with a 30W wireless or a 45W wired fast charging. Plus, Tecno has secured an IP64 rating for this newcomer. Its software is based on Android 15. Price-wise, Spark 40 Pro+ starts at $214 (~PKR 61,000).
Tecno Spark 40 Pro
This one has a flat profile, straight edges, and a non-curved 6.78” AMOLED screen on the front. Its resolution is also 1.5K at 1220p, and there’s the same 144Hz refresh rate as the Pro+ variant. We even have an identical 13MP selfie camera on this device. Spark40 Pro is rated IP64 water and dust resistant.
The 5200mAh cell is passed down to the Pro as well, but there’s no wireless charging here to back it up. It can only be recharged with a 45W wired input. Also, the phone brings that very same 50MP main camera here, although it’s stuck with last year’s Helio G100 chip, instead of an upgrade.
This one also comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage trims. There are FreeLink calls built into its Android 15 system, so you can communicate without a network within a limited radius. The Spark 40 Pro is also a bit cheaper at $189 (~PKR 57,000).
Tecno Spark 40
This is the cheapest variant you can buy in this lineup. The Spark 40 takes a preeminent shot at the iPhone 17 Pro design, which you may have seen in some leaked renders before. Tecno slapped a 6.67” IPS display on top with a modest HD+ resolution. It brings a high refresh rate at 120Hz.
The handset provides the same 50MP camera on the back as the others, but the selfie shooter is dialed down to an 8MP sensor. There’s FreeLink calls, dual speaker setup, Android 15 support, and even 45W charging common on each model.
Even though it’s the cheapest model, a 5200mAh battery persists inside the Spark 40, just like the rest of its crew. This model will offer you the Infrared remote feature, and there’s a Helio G81 chip mounted inside to handle an Android 15 system. Spark 40’s price is quite cheap compared to the others at only $133 (~PKR 38,000).
