Tecno Spark 40 Lands in Pakistan with 45W Super Charging and 120Hz Display

Tecno Spark 40 has officially landed in Pakistan, just as expected. It’s the non-NFC version with MediaTek's Helio G81 chip. The standard Spark 40 pairs the old platform with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which might feel inadequate for the price. But if you can look past the weak performance, this handset should be a solid offering for some users.

The phone is running Android 15 with HiOS skin at the firmware level. Spark 40’s built-in Helio G81 chip should handle the OS just fine, but don’t expect the user experience to be flawless. After all, it’s an entry-level phone. 6GB RAM should be sufficient if you are a light user who opens one app at a time.

Spark 40 downgrades the resolution and scales up the refresh rate. The old Spark 30 brought an FHD+ 90Hz panel. What we have on this newcomer is a 6.67” 720p HD+ IPS screen with a peak 120Hz clock rate. You also get a punch hole cut out on this panel that tucks away an 8MP selfie camera.

While we are on the topic, the Tecno's latest Spark mobile has a 50MP main camera on the back and an unnamed auxiliary lens right next to it on a huge horizontal island. It only looks like an iPhone 17 Pro. There’s no telephoto or ultrawide camera on this device, which is to be expected on a sub-entry-level phone.

The battery mounted on this device is your typical 5200mAh source. The industry is quickly moving away from that standard, but it’s still serviceable. The charging speed, however, is lightning fast, as it uses a 45W input to refill a 100% cell in 55 minutes. Tecno says it has 2000 cycles, so the battery retains 80% health even after 5 years of use.

The Spark 40 is not a premium phone, but it still brings users a decent IP64 rating for splash safety and full dust ingress protection. And Tecno didn't compromise essential features like the Micro SD card slot or 3.5mm audio jack to achieve this.

This newcomer has loud dual speakers and a FreeLink call service that allows calling up to a 500-meter range without a network. This is one of the few devices in this budget with an IR blaster. As for the cost, the Spark 40 (6/128GB) is officially priced at Rs 32,999 in Pakistan, which is a steal.
