Galaxy Xcover series from Samsung has had a few rugged phones, and they are planning to add another one to the family. But we are more interested in the Samsung Galaxy A58, which is supposed to dethrone the current Galaxy A57. These two phones were put on the GSMA IMEI database together.

There was a report that seems to confirm that Galaxy Xcover FR and Galaxy A58 have both been seen on the IMEI directory, so they’ve probably started working on these two phones. SM-A5860 is the model number we saw on a dedicated listing for A58.
The starting five figures in the model code gave up the exact name of this newcomer, so we know it’s definitely Galaxy A58, but the file had barely any focus on specs. Then again, this is an early listing of the phone, so we can’t expect to see the details this far from launch. Pakistan. Here in this article, stay updated with the Samsung price list in Pakistan, featuring the latest releases, popular models, and updated variants.

Anyway, Galaxy Xcover FR is model number SM-G778B. We know that this will be a rugged handset because this Xcover lineup is meant only for rugged phones. But we’ll leave it at that. The real question is, is the Galaxy A58 going to be upgraded anyway?
Well, the past few generations would say otherwise. Samsung has barely made any meaningful upgrades to the A5x phone, and the changes they usually make are on the chipset and software. But making an educated guess here, there is a possibility of a bigger battery next year.

There’s a pattern, you see. Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra both got a major battery boost, and there are rumors that the Galaxy S27 series will carry on that trend. At that rate, seeing a bigger cell on the Galaxy A58 is not an absurd claim. But this is just speculation.
Android 17 One UI 9.5 should come by default on the Galaxy A58, and they’ll put a faster chip on this newcomer next year. We can’t say if any of these theories will actually pan out, but our ears will be wide open from this point. Keep watching the news for more updates.
