Samsung Unpacked is closing in, and before the official release on August 10, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 showed up in leaked marketing images. The credible phone leaker Evan Blass (via 91Mobiles) dug up official-looking mockups of the upcoming foldable line. Apparently, Samsung has rehashed and polished the current fan favorite design instead of a total redesign.

Evan Blass confirms the three rumored colors: gray-green, Phantom Black, and beige. No notable change in the design is seen here. But the Z Fold 4 appears to offer subtle aesthetic tweaks.
While older Galaxy Folds had tall and narrow cover screens, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a slightly wider aspect ratio. Now it resembles a standard phone screen more. And Samsung is introducing a single-hinge design to minimize the crease on the main display.
Both screens are inherited from the previous model. But you can expect upgrades in brightness, color accuracy, and durability. Also, the outer display is now protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
There’s an under-display camera on the main screen again. But compared to last year’s 4MP sensor, it’s rumored to use a 16MP shooter. The rear camera housing is identical to last year’s Z Fold 3. However, the lenses and the bump appear slightly bigger.
The camera array contains a 50MP shooter instead of the older 12MP one. It’s joined by the same 12MP ultrawide and 12MP telephoto cameras, packing 3x optical zoom (up from 2x).

The product images showcase the Z Flip 4 in four colors, namely blue, graphite, pink gold, and bora purple. They all present a frosted matte finish. The new hinge design also makes the phone slimmer.
There is no major design refresh for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, but we see thinner bezels on the inner display. Its dimensions and aspect ratio are unchanged too. Instead of 1.9 inches, the cover display has stretched to 2.1 inches. And the camera lenses are larger too. The cameras and the screen are housed inside a black accent on the back.
Despite the rumor mill suggesting an under-display solution, Samsung has once again mounted an instant fingerprint scanner on the side.
Battery life has never been a strong suit for Galaxy Flips. But the new 3700 mAh battery has an extra 400 mAh capacity. And the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip should make the Galaxy Z Flip 4 more efficient.
