Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 Arrive in Pakistan with Faster Performance, Refined Design

Usama Rasool

They unveiled the Galaxy A57 and A37 in March. It took them at least a month before they decided to expand these devices in Pakistan. Now that they are here, we finally have all of their storage details and the prices. Everything can be found on the official Samsung page. Here’s a quick overview.

Samsung Galaxy A57

This is the phone to get if you have a healthy budget. The handset is pricier than usual, but with good reason. They’ve used the all-new Exynos 1680 chip on the Galaxy A57 this time. That’s a 4nm SoC (RDNA 3) with 2.9 GHz boost clock. There’s also a new Xclipse 550 iGPU here.

The NPU gets a bump to 19.6 TOPS, so the native AI performance is slightly better. The SoC gets pretty hot. To tame the beast, they’ve used a 13% bigger vapor chamber on the A57 for sustained loads. There’s a metal middle frame, same as before.

Galaxy A57 is thinner this time, but with the same 5000mAh battery. The frame is now 6.9mm (vs. 7.2mm Galaxy A56). There won’t be a charger in the box. It does, however, support 45W fast charging to refill 60% tank in 30 minutes.

There’s no upgrade for the screen either. Sure, the bezels look thinner, but it’s essentially the same super AMOLED 6.7” panel at 1080p FHD+ resolution. The motion rate is 120Hz here. A Gorilla Glass Victus+ is there for safety. Its usable brightness is exactly 1200nits HBM.

The image pipeline is optimized, but the camera setup is still 50MP (main) + 12MP (ultrawide) + 5MP (macro). There’s a 12MP selfie snapper on the screen. The official base price for the Galaxy A57 in Pakistan is Rs 166,999 (8/256GB). The second (12/256GB) version will cost Rs 184,999. The very last trim (12/512GB) will kick it all the way to Rs 224,999.

Samsung Galaxy A37

The A37 only has one storage option for our market. It’s 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Most of the global markets treat this as the priciest version. That’s why the Galaxy A37 might feel a bit expensive at Rs 149,999 in Pakistan. So far, there has been no sign of a cheaper option.

Galaxy A37 is mostly identical to last year’s Galaxy A36. Some changes are less prominent than others. They did switch the SoC to Exynos 1480. And just to be clear, it’s not a new silicon. It was actually used on the Galaxy A55 first. It’s a 2.75 GHz platform with Xclipse 530 GPU. Another benefit: you get the new Android 16 One UI 8.5 out of the box.

As we said, no big changes have been made. It’s still a 7.4mm plastic build at 196 grams. Thick bezels and a non-uniform chin still plague the Galaxy A37. Design-wise, the only change we noticed is the better IP68 rating. The camera plateau is unified for three lenses.

The resolution for the Ultrawide sensor is 8MP here. The main camera is 50MP with a not-so-commonly-used 5MP macro lens. All the camera AI features are shared on both A57 and A37. These phones have AI Object Eraser and Circle to Search. The AI Best Face tool is also present.

By the way, Galaxy A57 also uses a 5000mAh battery with 45W charging. This cell will recharge 60% in 30 minutes. This newcomer is built around a 6.7” super AMOLED of 1080p resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and 1200nits HBM. Both phones have screen fingerprint IDs and 6 years of OS updates. Rs 149,999 is the Galaxy A37’s official price tag in Pakistan.
