Oppo Reno5 is Coming Soon; Leak Details the Third Reno Phone This Year

Oppo has already released two Reno generations this year — the Reno3 in March and Oppo Reno 4 in July. And the Chinese phone-maker still hasn’t closed out the lineup for this season. A new leak reveals that the next Reno series is slated for a launch soon too. Let’s talk about the Oppo Reno5.

Digital Chat Station, a credible phone leaker from China, shared the spec sheet in their Weibo profile. And from what we can tell, the Oppo Reno 5 is the same phone. It features the same 65W SuperVOOC charging as the Reno4 5G (not to be confused with the global variant) and the same Snapdragon 765G processor, which you’ll also find in the Reno3 Pro.

Oppo Price List in Pakistan

The phone has allegedly been signed off by the Chinese certification authority TENNA. On the website, the listing showcases the phone itself, its dimensions, display specifications, camera, and battery.

In Oppo Reno5, the wide hole-punch has been replaced by a single camera, the 4300 mAh battery is 300 mAh bigger, and the standard rear camera on the upcoming addition to the Oppo price list is now 64MP. The extra ‘depth’ sensor taking up precious screen real-estate is gone, but the 32MP front camera is still there.

Reno5’s screen is still the 6.43” 1080P OLED panel, but its touch sampling rate is bumped up to 180Hz for fast touch response times. You’ll find a fingerprint scanner embedded underneath the glass. The phone’s frame is 7.9mm and weighs 172g — lighter but 0.1mm thicker. Oppo is skipping three generations of ColorOS and going straight to ColorOS 11, based on Android11. Oppo Reno5 will be shipping with that version.

The aesthetics follow the new Oppo/Realme design language — that is, jet-black, rounded camera plates and generic halftones that come in blue, black, red, and ‘starry dream.’ Think of the Reno5 as a Reno4 edition rather than a new phone.
