OPPO Reno 8 Pro to Arrive Soon with Dimensity 8100 SoC and MariSilicon X Imaging NPU

The upcoming Oppo Reno 8 Pro will be part of the company's next mid-range lineup, which could feature the Dimenity 8100 platform from MediaTek. It could also be the first phone in the segment to use the company's MariSilicon X NPU.


The upcoming Reno 8 series will feature the Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 SE, which will be powered by the Dimension 8100, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and the Dimenity 8100 SoC respectively. The series will also feature an independent display chip.

Now a listing for the model number PFZM10 of the upcoming Reno 8 Pro has also appeared on the Geekbench, confirming it to be powered by an Octa-core MediaTek SoC. The four cores are shown to be clocked at 2.00GHz and the other four at 2.85GHz so it could either be a Dimensity 8100 or the 8100-Max SoC.


Aside from the aforementioned display, the listing also revealed that the device will feature 12GB of RAM and runs Android 12 at a flagship Oppo Smartphone price pointThe Reno 8 Pro will be one of the first Android devices to use the Dimensity 8100 chipset, a popular platform for mid-range Android devices.


Although the manufacturer has not yet officially confirmed the details of the Reno 8 Pro, Digital Chat Station in a report shared earlier, claimed the upcoming Oppo Reno 8 Pro to be the company's first mid-range device to use the MariSilicon X NPU.

OPPO announced the MariSilicon X NPU in December 2021, its proprietary chipset, which promises another level of photography quality with advanced image processing. In theory, it could also bring advanced performance to mobile CPUs.
