After surfacing in numerous leaks and videos, OPPO finally made the Reno 8 lineup official, consisting of the standard Reno 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Pro Plus. The series was highly anticipated, mainly because it marks the debut of the Chinese devices with the MariSilicon X imaging NPU.

OPPO Reno 8 Pro+

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro Plus is the top in the line. It boasts a stunning 6.7-inch AMOLED panel which peaks at 950 nits of brightness, 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, we find a hole-punch cutout in the center for the 32MP front-facing camera. The layout perfectly aligns with the leaked renders that surfaced online.

The chip inside the Reno 8 Pro Plus is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max. It’s backed by 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports an 80W VOOC flash charge.

Moving on to the rear. Three lenses and an LED flash form a cluster on a raised camera island. It’s an array of 50MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro shooters. The base Reno 8 Pro+ variant costs around 3,699 Yuan or about Rs 111,000 PKR.

OPPO Reno 8 Pro

The Pro variant of the OPPO Reno 8 Pro is the same size as the Pro Plus variant and also has an AMOLED panel. It can hit 1300 nits of peak brightness, supports HDR10+ content, and measures 6.6-inch across. Other display specs are similar to the 8 Pro Plus.

Under the hood, the Reno 8 Pro comes equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, marking the debut of Qualcomm's new mid-range platform, along with OPPO's own MariSilicon X NPU. On cameras and the Battery, it retains the specs of the Pro+ variant.

Other differences include Dual-LED flash and UFS 2.2 storage. The Reno 8 Pro comes in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants. The baseline option costs  2,999 yuan (~ Rs. 90,300.)

Sporting 800 nits of peak brightness, the screen bears a punch-hole cutout at the corner, for the 16MP selfie snapper. There's also a thumb reader underneath the display.

Under the hood, The Reno 8 comes fitted with MediaTek's Dimensity 1300 with options of 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 built-in storage, with no space for a microSD card. There is support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3 LE connectivity.
