The long-awaited Oppo Reno 8 series has finally surfaced. The Chinese tech giant held an event in Thailand yesterday to make Oppo Reno 8 and 8 pro release official. As expected, Oppo has decided to add one more device to the duo, which will be the cheapest option of all three. Enter Reno8 Z 5G.

The successor to Reno7 Z 5g, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G, only received minimal tweaks and upgrades. It's safe to say that both devices are twins except for a slight redesign this time, which we will discuss in a minute.

To start things off, let's take a look at the display. It's an AMOLED 6.43" panel — the resolution peaks at 1080 x 2400 pixels, densely packed at ~409 PPI for the sharpest visuals. The Reno 8 Z has SCHOTT Xensation Up Glass display protection, which claims to survive twice the drop height compared to conventional aluminosilicate glass. There's a punch hole cutout upfront to house the selfie camera.

For the Reno8 Z 5g's rear camera, we are looking at a 64MP primary, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. RGB ring lights around two camera lenses to capture the essence of their previous Reno7 Z 5g model. A 16MP selfie camera up front with an f/2.4 wide aperture. Oppo is calling this device the "Portrait Expert."

They have completely redesigned the rear camera housing for this Oppo new Reno model. The camera bump has vanished, and the lenses are now directly protruding from the shell. The phone has two color variants, Dawnlight gold and starlight black.

You have 8GB of memory paired with 128GB of storage. Snapdragon 695 5g is the processing engine for the Reno 8Z with integrated Adreno 619 GPU to handle the visual performance.

The phone packs a 4500 mAh cell with the ability to top-up 31% in 15 min and 100% in 63 min using 33W fast charging. A fingerprint sensor hides inside the display, and all of it runs on Android 12 x ColorOS 12.1 UI. The price for OPPO Reno 8Z 5G is ~350 USD or ~PKR 78000
