OPPO Reno 8 Featured in a Leaked Hands-on Photo; More Specs Revealed

Oppo Reno 8 Pro series is the next generation of the company's premium mid-range line. It has been making headlines in the tech sphere for a few months now. But since we’re inching closer to its upcoming launch, the rumor mill has brought us a hands-on photo of the Reno 8.


Digital Chat Station, a popular phone leaker, posted an image of the Oppo Reno 8. We’re only shown the phone’s screen with the device info pulled up. Per the listed details, the Oppo Reno 8 has a Snapdragon 7 series chip at its heart. Presumably, the unannounced Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 that’s dropping in May 2022. It’s a high-performance midrange 4nm chip that rivals MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100.

Oppo is also securing product certifications for the Reno 8. The Chinese 3C authority recently signed off on the phone’s battery and charging specs. You can find the listing under the model number ‘PGAM10.’ Based on the documentation, Oppo Reno 8 is powered by 80W SuperVOOC charging. It’s a step up from the 65W standard that has charged the Reno series for the past few iterations.


Lastly, the reports preceding this leak have pointed to a 6.5” AMOLED screen on the latest android Oppo mobile that delivers a 1080P resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The chipset is rounded off by a 4500 mAh battery, ultra-fast UFS 3.1 storage, and advanced LPDDR5 RAM.

Its rear camera is a cluster of 50MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro or portrait shooters. ColorOS x Android 12 runs on the Oppo Reno 8.
