Oppo Reno 15 Series Specs Leak; Only Two Models Planned, No Pro Max Version

Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max has been under consideration, but the plan seems to be changing now. The company wanted to release this device as a third and new addition to the family. This would’ve oriented the whole series into Apple’s naming scheme, like other brands have been doing lately. But a high-profile leaker says Reno 15 Pro Max may never come out.

Digital Chat Station, a popular tipster based in China, reported the specs detailing two Reno phones in this series. First up is the smaller of the two phones, the Reno 15. It has a flat 6.32” display, most likely with a hole-punch cutout. The tipster says the front camera has a 50MP sensor behind it.

Oppo is using metal for the chassis, possibly with a glass back. The phone has an IP69 dust and water ingress rating, which means it’s basically waterproof, even under high pressure. Three cameras are mounted on the back for three dedicated shooting modes.

The main camera features a 200MP sensor, there is an ultra-wide lens with a 50MP sensor behind it, and finally, a 50MP periscope camera powers lossless zooming. The zoom lens specs remain a mystery for now. Oppo Reno 14 Pro, from the previous generation, runs on the Dimensity 8450 chip. With the next generation, that chip is also coming to the latest Oppo Reno mobile

It’s a 4nm MediaTek chipset, comparable in performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Some benchmarks suggest it might even outperform the competitor at mobile gaming. There’s one change that we did not see coming. Reno 15 Pro is going with the same chipset as well.

What separates the Pro from the standard model is the display. It’s a bigger 6.78” screen with a 1.5K resolution (about 2712x1200 pixels). The regular Reno 15 has the same resolution, according to this source, but the Pro model will presumably feature a better display quality and a faster refresh rate.

On paper, it seems there are not a lot of meaningful differentiators between the base and Pro models. The Reno 15 Pro just seems like a slightly larger Reno 15. The Pro model does have 50W wireless charging support, which the vanilla doesn’t. DCS ends the leak by saying a 6.59” model, which was presumed to be the Reno 15 Pro Max in so many leaks before, is undetermined. It is possible that the device may not come out.
