Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max Found in a Leak with D9400 Chip, 200MP Camera & LTPO OLED

Phones with “Pro” and “Pro Max” monikers are becoming a common sight. Xiaomi revealed its main series with the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max devices this year. Oppo is now copying that formula for its Reno line. The next series will have an Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max model. SmartPrix says it will be the priciest of all.

SmartPrix paints the full picture through its report. But the original information came from Yogesh Brar on X/Twitter. He’s one of the prolific leakers on the internet. It would seem the Reno series has two Pro devices on the way this time. We’ll have one with the usual “Pro” moniker.

But the one we cover in this news has “Pro Max” in the name. The source predicted most of its specs. And he might be right on the money. Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max is built around a 6.78” flat OLED. Its specialty might be an LTPO 120Hz panel.

We believe the 120Hz part. There’s nothing to question here. But the variable refresh rate might be a stretch. This will be the first in this category. The Oppo new Reno mobile’s OLED is also 1.5K (1200p) in resolution. So, it’s going to need a beefy SoC for smooth usage.

Last year’s Reno 14 Pro was already edging that flagship-tier space. But the following Pro Max is definitely going to cross over to the upper ranks. Brar says it has a Dimensity 9400 chip, which is the flagship kind. Also, Oppo may have plans to use the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 200MP camera on the Reno 15 Pro Max.

Their Reno 15 series should enter China later this year. So let’s hope the Color OS 16 system debuts by then and the series kicks off with a new Android 16 build.

It’s also possible the Pro Max will bring WiFi 7 and a 6500mAh battery. The leaker says its price could be near the $600 mark, which puts it in the flagship-killer territory.
