Oppo Reno 15 Pro and Pro+ May Debut with Sub-Flagship Dimensity 8500 SoC

Oppo is once again going for a Dimensity 8000 series chip on its sub-flagship Reno series. The next collection is the Reno 15 lineup, bound for November 2025 launch. The initial location of deployment is China, and the global launch comes after. Around the same time, MediaTek will release Dimensity 8500, and the same chip could be used on Reno 15 Pro and Pro+.

Nothing’s set in stone yet, but the possibility was indicated by Smart Pikachu on his latest Weibo post. The leaker’s track record is immaculate, so there may be something to his statement. The post says all smartphone brands are trying to develop well-rounded phones based on the Dimensity 8500 chip.

They are interested in 200MP cameras. Some are even testing periscope telephoto lenses on their engineering prototypes. The leaker’s post is tagged Oppo Reno 15, so these details are indirectly pointed at the member devices, likely the Reno 15 Pro and Pro Plus.

Smart Pikachu goes on to claim that some brands are testing devices with 10,000mAh batteries. Again, there’s no way to be sure if this leak is pointed at latest Oppo Reno mobiles alone or if some other brands are working on consumer devices with these specs. Not this leak, but previous rumors did report something along those lines.

There’s chatter on the web about the Redmi, Honor, and Realme testing phones with Dimensity 8500 chips. Realme Neo 8, Honor Power 2, Redmi Turbo 5, etc., might be among those devices. Honor Power 2 seems to be the only one rumored to have a 10,000mAh battery.

Getting back to the Reno 15 series, we have found some reports that three devices are on the way, all bearing different sizes. The smallest one will be 6.3” with a 1.5K LTPS OLED and a periscope camera. Then comes a 6.59” model with a 200MP main ISOCELL HP5 outsole.

The biggest and most expensive one will be a 1.5K LTPS 6.78” OLED model, and it could use both a 200MP main Samsung HP5 and a pericope telephoto shooter. Sadly, the internet hasn’t unearthed their names yet. We’ll get back to you once we have more details.
