Oppo Reno 15 Details Leak Early with 200MP Camera & Massive Upgrades on the Way

The Reno 14 series’ global rollout hasn’t even wrapped up yet, and we are already hearing buzz about the upcoming Oppo Reno 15 series. It seems Oppo has come a long way in its development. The company usually refreshes the Reno lineup every six months, so a premature leak such as this doesn’t come as a surprise. Here’s what we know.

Digital Chat Station gave up quite a descriptive leak on his Weibo profile, saying that Reno 15 and 15 Pro are already in the testing phase. The company has been evaluating the use of a 200MP camera on both phones. The premise is intriguing, if the leak proves to be accurate.

The Oppo Reno 14 duo is still fresh in our memories, with only 50MP main cameras on both devices. As far as generational upgrades go, this massive jump to a 200MP camera would be historic for Oppo. That said, we are not sure if these phones have any other meaningful upgrades to bring in such a short amount of time.

DCS reports a new strategy that Oppo plans to implement with its next Reno devices. The company wants to bring back the compact and large variations of the vanilla and Pro models. To quote the leaker, the latest Oppo Reno mobile will have a 6.3” display, which is generally considered a compact design. This has been downsized from a 6.59” screen on the Reno 14.

The Reno 15 Pro will continue with a larger 6.83” screen with no variation. The internet has already sniffed out a potential reason for it. Oppo has been trying to align itself with Apple for the past few generations. It seems the iPhone 17’s alleged 6.3” display may have influenced the Reno 15’s size as well.

Some other details we found in the leak are metal designs and periscope telephoto lenses on each handset. DCS also mentions wireless charging, but the tipster didn’t specify which phone will have that feature. We may need to wait a bit more for confirmation.

The leaker also talks about flagship hardware for the devices, which, again, raises more questions than it answers. As always, we are keeping a close eye on the Reno 15 series for any and all future updates. Stay tuned if you don’t want to miss anything.
