Ice Universe leaked more than a few details on the camera today. The tip he gave didn’t really talk about the hardware, though his former posts have already verified the missing 3x telephoto. Today’s post was more oriented towards camera tuning and image optimization.
There has always been a big difference in the image tones of Galaxy devices and iPhones. Samsung leans more on cooler color grading. Samsung new S model might possibly adopt a warmer tone for the first time. This would break the cycle, but it’s hardly an upgrade.
The actual boost to the image quality would come from highlight control. Galaxy S27 Ultra would capture bright small objects at a distance with much better clarity, though we still need to see how effective it could be in real life. Blown-up highlights are an underrated issue, and it’s rarely talked about.
The phone would produce smoother images, said the leaker. Galaxy S27 Ultra is supposed to have better low-light performance. And the images taken in darker areas will be less grainy and noisy this time.
The leak from Ice Universe made it clear that there’s only a 5x telephoto sensor behind the Galaxy S27 Ultra. So this would reduce the setup to three lenses.
